City Council Passes Shoal Creek Resolution

May 1, 2014  | By Shoal Creek Conservancy

Great news!

Today, May 1, 2014, the Austin City Council adopted a resolution directing the City Manager to explore a public-private partnership with the Shoal Creek Conservancy. More specifically, it directs the Manager to explore a partnership for the creation of a Shoal Creek Watershed Management, Trail, Parks and Open Space Plan; a strategy for the development, management and operation of this plan; and to provide Council with a recommendation for the structure of this partnership, potential roles and responsibilities, and an implementation schedule.

This resolution was sponsored by Mayor Pro Tem Cole and co-sponsored by Mayor Leffingwell and Councilman Riley. It is an exciting first step for the Conservancy in formalizing our relationship and activities along Shoal Creek and within the watershed. We look forward to establishing this partnership in the coming month and thank the Council for their support. Read the resolution.
