Conservancy Announces Formal Partnership With City

April 22, 2015  | By Shoal Creek Conservancy

On a beautiful, sun-drenched evening in front of a packed house at yesterday’s 1st Annual Shoal Creek Awards, Conservancy Board President made it official: the Shoal Creek Conservancy had formalized its partnership with the City of Austin. The Conservancy and three City departments (Parks and Recreation, Public Works and Watershed Protection) recently signed a public-private partnership agreement which would allow all organizations to work more closely and fuel continued improvements throughout the Shoal Creek watershed.

On hand for the announcement were Austin Mayor Steve Adler; Council Members Kathie Tovo, Leslie Pool and Sheri Gallo; and the directors of all three departments: Howard Lazarus, Victoria Li, and Sara Hensley, respectively.

We’ll be discussing the partnership in more detail in the coming weeks, but learn more right now by reading the SCC press release and articles in the Austin Monitor and Community Impact News.
